A New Spin on Business
Lake Forest duo open Joyride Cycle Studio to offer a convenient workout destination.

Maybe it’s the music or it could be the parking. Whatever it is, the new Joyride Cycle Studio is getting locals excited about spinning.
Located behind Gabe’s Backstage Lounge in Highwood, this new cycle studio features world-class LeMond bikes, a rocking sound system, and a line-up of top instructors. With state-of-the-art Pilot computers for tracking performance and an upper-level weight and mat workout area for stretching and strength building, the studio offers clients more than just your average ride.
In six months, co-owners and Lake Forest residents Melissa Blake and Eva Lasacco took their idea from conception to reality. Having taught cycling in local health clubs, Melissa already had a loyal following. It wasn’t until a local hockey coach asked her to conduct off-ice training at the rink that she got the inspiration — and aspiration — to open her own studio.
